Our client is a global leader in culinary and hospitality apparel, serving over 75,000 customers across the US and Canada. The Challenge
As the business grew, our client faced challenges with their outdated Sage CRM platform, which could no longer support the expanding business needs. The Sage CRM was limited in its ability to enforce data quality standards, and its automation capabilities were minimal.
Recognizing the need for a more powerful CRM, the company decided to replace the Sage CRM while retaining its Sage ERP system, which handled key functions such as manufacturing, logistics and billing. The integration of Salesforce with the on-premises Sage ERP became essential to bridge the gap and ensure smooth business operations.
The integration challenge was amplified by the on-premises nature of the Sage ERP system, which limited the available middleware tools and added complexity to the solution.
The Solution
Leveraging their expertise with integration platforms, KeyNode Solutions proposed and implemented Workato, a leading integration tool. With Workato’s intuitive platform, KeyNode built an on-premise agent using a no-code approach, which was deployed directly to the Sage ERP system. This agent enabled bi-directional integration of customer account records between Salesforce and the Sage ERP platform, ensuring seamless data flow between the two systems.
The Results
The first sales division of the company successfully transitioned to the new platform within a month, with no feature gaps or disruptions. The division can now leverage enhanced functionality in Salesforce Sales Cloud, particularly in automating their sales processes, which has resulted in more efficient operations.
Customer account records are now created and maintained in Salesforce as the single source of truth. These records are automatically replicated to the Sage ERP system for logistics and billing purposes. Any updates made to the account records in either system are automatically synced, ensuring both systems are always up to date.
The transition has already led to significant license cost savings as the company reduced the number of Sage licenses required for operations.
This successful integration is only the beginning, with additional automation and integration planned for the next phases of the project to further streamline operations.
