Salesforce Summer ‘22 – The Top Features
Three times per year, Salesforce release a bunch of new features which all customers can immediately take advantage of. It’s not like a packaged software solution where you have to manually install all the updates, as it’s a cloud-based application, everyone gets the updates automatically!
The Salesforce Summer ’22 release is staggered over three weekends: May 21st, June 4th and June 11th, 2022. This release icon features Einstein enjoying the summer water skiing.
Our Salesforce Consultants at KeyNode Solutions have selected the most interesting features.
Overdue Tasks
Sometimes it is just the little things that can make a difference – this is one of those. Now, Salesforce tasks that are overdue are highlighted in red to catch your attention:
Report Enhancements
Creating new reports in Salesforce just got easier with these new features to better guide the user when writing reports. Now they can see which objects and fields are contained in a report type (before they select the wrong one and have to start all over again). Admins can easily hide report types too so the users are not overwhelmed with too many confusing choices.

Administrators can now hide report types (in lightning) to reduce the confusing number of choices shown to users and reduce the chance of selecting the wrong one.

If needed, the hidden report types can still be shown:
Salesforce Dynamic Related Lists
After a long wait, you can now customize related lists within the App Builder. You can create a single dynamic related list, select the fields to display, select the number of records to display, apply filters to only select certain records and finally choose the sort order.
And add actions buttons to the related list:
Slack Integration
The Salesforce acquisition of Slack is starting to bear fruit with Slack being integrated everywhere, including flow, Sales Cloud, CRM Analytics. There is even talk of Slack eventually replacing Chatter one day. They still need to work out how to replicate Chatter’s key benefit – connecting collaboration around a record.
Salesforce Flow
Salesforce flow continues to get plenty of attention with some key updates to make building and managing flows easier.
Entry Formulas
Record triggered flows can now have filtered conditions using the new formula builder. This allows greater flexibility to ensure your record triggered flows only run if the conditions are met. This feature will allow the replacement of many workflow rules that used a similar function.

Control trigger ordering
The order of record triggered flows can now be configured with the drag and drop editor. Click Edit Order and then drag up/down to change the order.
Flow triggers in object setup
In the Object Manager, record triggered flows now have their own menu to quickly see which flows are triggered on this object.
Collapsible headings in Screen Flows
When building screen flows, you can now include headers that support collapsible sections. Not only can you break a large page into sections but users can click the chevron and collapse the section.
Click the chevron to collapse the section and click again to reveal the section.
